Ual level 3 performing arts
Performance week units 1-4

Monday 9th October 2017

For our first lesson we had a drama lesson with Rob. We did another vocal warm up. This time we started with 2 sentences on the board and we had to try and say it. They were quite complicated as they were tongue twisters but after a couple of times we got them and we could say them fairly easily. Then after that we went straight into the rehearsal of romeo and Juliet. That tongue twister helped us as of was quite similar to some of the sentences in romeo and Juliet and with them you need to sound out the words more to understand them. We started off from the same scenes (1 to party scene). We was getting ready for our performance on Wednesday 11th October. This is useful for us as they were trying to give us tips on how to speak how to project our voices etc.

For our second lesson we had another drama lesson with Sharon. Our starter was a quick vocal warm up to get us ready for another rehearsal. This has enabled us to sound out our words better and say our lines better as we have done it several times.  This helps us to learn our lines as we have been doing it very smd over again.

For our first lesson we had a blog session with rob where we had to blog about what we did In each of our performing arts lessons.

Then at 2 o'clock we went to go and watch the music students perform. It was first the level 2s and then of progressed to the level 3s. Their performances were very good as they showed us what they had been working on and I had seen that they spent time on these songs to make sure that they were perfect. This enables us to see how hard they had been working for this performance eventhough most of them were nervous because it was their first time on stage.

For our first lesson we had a rehearsal lesson with Sharon where she told us go go into a circle and do some warm ups, for example, vocal warm ups and stretches. We then went straight into the rehearsal and ran through it once to see how it was. Kenya was our director for it so she was giving out all the cues to everyone.

Then it was 2 oclock, time for our performance. We went second last in the performance. All the other actors were good on stage as they had been working hard and they were making sure nothing went wrong. The dancers were amazing as they showed passion with in their dancing which shows that they came to impress the audience and not make a fool out of themselves.

We all had to get in college by 9:15 due to us going on a trip to the Conway hall. The things that was covered was the fighting scene where the two houses were in still images showing what feud they had. The workshop teachers were telling us different ways on how we can improve our scene and they added in two more ideas to try and make it better. This has helped with the style as they had tried to incorporate everyone in the scene so no one else is not in the scene, being a citizen or not. I have learnt the 5 rules. Which are 1: project ur voice to the back of the audience
2: cheat out a bit dont make your back face the audience etc.
It has helped me understand romeo and Juliet more due to us doing that workshop with them.
