Ual level 3 performing and production arts
Induction week.

Monday 11th September 2017

For our first lesson we had a drama lesson with Rob. This lesson was just an induction lesson as we did not know nothing about Romeo and Juliet. We done this by reading through the script and seeing which characters are treated with respect and which are not. This enables us to understand each character in the play and what their role in the play is.

For our second lesson we had another drama lesson with Sharon. This lesson was another induction lesson where we had to sit in a circle and everyone had to pick one character from the play and read out their lines to everyone. This is an effective way of learning about a play as it helps us to see who is In the play, what Romeo sees in Juliet through his poetic speeches and to see the rivalry between both families. But as we went through the play we see how the feud effected romeo and Juliet.

For our first lesson we had a blog lesson with Rob where we worked on the context of the play. We were told to find a timeline for William shakespeare.

This helps us to understand William Shakespeare's life at its fullest. For example, he was born in 1564 and died in 1616.

For our second lesson we had a drama lesson with Sharon where we started of with a quick warm up. In this warm up we worked on some vocal warm ups to warm up our voices to ensure we are ready for the rehearsal. We then  carried on with the induction but this time we stood up and started acting it out. This helps us to get familiar with the play more by acting it out and going through the stage directions as well. We were told to just say the lines as if we was in the moment and act out what was told on the script by following each of the stage directions.

For our first lesson we had a drama lesson with Rob where we started off with a quick warm up to get us ready for rehearsal. We had to stand in a circle in drama neutral (feet parallel from each other and arms by our side) this is effective due to it showing the teacher that we are ready to learn. It is also effective as it doesn't enable any of us to fiddle with stuff.  We them went straight into the induction to the play due to people still being confused about the play so we did little starter activities to help us remember. One of the starters was to get a piece of paper and write down the three most important things that happened in romeo and Juliet and create three still images out of that. This is effective as it shows everyone who is who and y they are in love.

Thursday 14th September 2017

For our first lesson we had a tutorial lesson with Sharon. We were taught how to set up our blogs and what we had to put in our blogs. This is useful because with out our blogs we can start to record what we did in each of our lessons.

For our second lesson we had a drama lesson with Rob where again we went straight into a circle and did some warm ups. This heps us due to some people being tired and being on long journeys to come here so this wakes up people and enables them to work hard. For our starter we went straight into the play and was going through each character with people being random characters due to the play not being casted yet. We first went through the whole play so we can see how we can cast it and what things we can change in the different scenes to make them look as effective as possible.
